SPOKANE, WA – A wanted fugitive considered armed and dangerous has been safely taken into custody following a coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies.

The U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force (PNVOTF), with assistance from the U.S. Border Patrol, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, and the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 34-year-old Frederic G. Hamberg late on March 20.

Authorities located Hamberg at approximately 11:55 p.m. in the 7900 block of North Division and took him into custody without incident. He was wanted on two felony warrants, including two counts of Second-Degree Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, stemming from a drive-by shooting in Mead earlier this year.

Investigators allege that in January, Hamberg fired multiple shots into his ex-girlfriend’s occupied vehicle along North Newport Highway. No injuries were reported. He was also wanted on additional charges of Assault in the Second Degree, including strangulation or suffocation in a domestic violence-related case.

Hamberg has been booked into the Spokane County Jail, where his bond is set at $150,000.
