Swimming Hole At Laird Park North Of Harvard Will Return This Summer

HARVARD, ID – There will be a swimming hole at Laird Park North of Harvard this summer.

The U.S. Forest Service tells Pullman Radio News that crews have fixed the dam that has created the swimming hole since the 1930’s.  There was no swimming hole at the park last summer as the dam needed to be repaired.  Last fall Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest Officials stated that the swimming hole would not return this summer.  The dam should be up and the hole should be ready for swimming by the end of June.

The forest service has also fixed the potable water supply for the Laird Park campground.  Poor water quality forced officials to shut down the system all last season.  Camping at Laird Park with potable water this year returns on June 19th.
