SEL Raises Starting Hourly Wage to $20

PULLMAN, WA — Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) has raised its starting hourly wage for U.S. employees to $20, effective April 1.

The company currently has more than 500 open positions worldwide, with 410 of those located in Pullman, Washington; Moscow, Idaho; and Lewiston, Idaho.

SEL is a 100 percent employee-owned company. In addition to wages and benefits, full-time U.S. employees receive shares of SEL stock through an employee stock ownership plan. These shares are held in a trust until the employee retires or leaves the company. Employees and their families also have access to free onsite health clinics and wellbeing centers in Pullman and Lewiston.

“Worldwide demand for our products is increasing and we’re pleased to offer new opportunities in Pullman, Moscow and Lewiston and to share our success with our employees,” said SEL Founder Edmund O. Schweitzer, III.

The company previously raised its starting wage from $18 to $19 in July 2023.
