Astegos Inc. and Boise Toys for Tots Strengthen Partnership to Spread Joy and Hope This Holiday Season

November 18, 2024

(Idaho State) Astegos Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Treasure Valley, is proud to announce its continued collaboration with the Local Boise Toys for Tots Campaign (Boise TFT) through a newly formalized Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This partnership reaffirms the shared commitment of both organizations to serve economically disadvantaged children in Southwest Idaho by bringing joy and hope during the holiday season.

Astegos Inc. began its partnership with Boise TFT in 2023, and together, the organizations have worked tirelessly to raise monetary and toy donations to meet the growing needs of the community. The MOU outlines the collaborative efforts between Astegos, Boise TFT, and Company C, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (C Co. 4th LAR Bn.), ensuring a seamless process in planning, fundraising, and distributing toys to families in need.

Key Highlights of the Partnership:

  • Increased Fundraising Impact: Astegos has leveraged its nonprofit expertise to enhance fundraising efforts, including organizing high-profile events like the “Home for the Holidays” raffle. The goal of this raffle is to raise enough funds to provide a permanent home for Astegos.org and Toys for Tots in one building, owned by Astegos.org, creating a shared space to expand their reach and impact. Additionally, one lucky winner will receive a fantastic and beautiful 1,750 square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath home in Avimor.
  • Expanded Reach: The new warehouse will enable Astegos.org and Toys for Tots to expand their reach across Idaho. Continuing their joint effort to be a year-round force for good, ensuring that children in need are supported beyond the holiday season.
  • Enhanced Campaign Impact: This partnership has already significantly increased the impact of the Toys for Tots campaign. More than 10,000 applications for toy assistance have been received this year, a dramatic increase compared to the few hundred applications received by this time in previous years.
  • Streamlined Operations: Astegos collaborates closely with Boise TFT to manage logistics, including toy collection, sorting, and distribution. The partnership ensures every donated toy meets safety standards and reaches its intended recipient.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Astegos coordinates with local volunteers and community groups to support the mission of Boise TFT, fostering a spirit of giving and community involvement.
  • Community Outreach: Astegos and Boise TFT work together to connect with underserved families through churches, schools, and nonprofit organizations, ensuring no child is left behind during the holiday season.

Special Event Announcement:
On Dec. 21st, 2024, Astegos.org is hosting a Toy Give-away with Toys for Tots at EXPO IDAHO from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone interested in toy assistance should apply online at IdahoToys.com.
“This partnership is a testament to what we can achieve when we unite for a common purpose,” said Tim Flaherty, Director of Astegos Inc. “Together with Boise Toys for Tots and the dedicated Marines of C Co. 4th LAR Bn., we are able to bring the magic of the holidays to thousands of children in need. The new warehouse will help us make an even greater impact year-round.”
