SPOKANE – July 6, 2022: The Avista Foundation has announced its second quarter grants, awarding $103,450 to 26 non-profit organizations in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Alaska.
“We’re pleased to invest in community organizations that make such a difference in young people’s lives to help them reach their greatest potential,” said Dennis Vermillion, Avista president and CEO.
In 2021, the Avista Foundation donated more than $1.9 million to organizations that help people in need. Second quarter grants are focused on organizations that provide services supportive of youth development and educational programming.
Since its establishment in 2002, the Avista Foundation has made grants totaling over $12 million. The foundation focuses its giving in the areas of vulnerable and limited income populations, education, and economic and cultural vitality. It is a separate, non-profit organization established by Avista Corp., and does not receive funding from Avista Utilities or AEL&P customers through rates.
