Baseball Sweeps, Stevens Earns 11th CCC Weekly Accolade

CALLIE STEVENS – WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Stevens put on an offensive clinic over the weekend with an average of 22 points per game. The senior guard scored 15 points against College of Idaho on Friday before adding an impressive 29 points to help the No. 7 Warrior women past Eastern Oregon. She shot 50% from the field over the weekend to go with seven rebounds, nine assists and three steals.

This is Stevens’ fourth weekly honor this season and 11^th in her career.

The Warriors hit the road this weekend for contests at Bushnell (Ore.) and Corban (Ore.).

CHARLIE UPDEGRAVE – BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Updegrave was an offensive machine over the weekend against some of the nation’s top teams. The junior led No. 3 LC State in hits (5) and RBI (9) over the four games for a team-best .455 batting average, .727 slugging percentage and .650 on-base percentage. Updegrave drove in two runs against No. 6 Tennessee Wesleyan, three against No. 7 Bellevue (Neb.) and four against (RV) St. Thomas (Fla.) including a home run. He also scored five runs.

This is the first weekly honor of Updegrave’s career.

DRAKE GEORGE – BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

George put on one of the best performances of his career against No. 6 Tennessee Wesleyan in the season opener. The junior tossed 4.2 shutout innings in the victory and struck out seven. He gave up just three hits against a historically potent offense.

This is the first weekly honor of George’s career.

LC State is in SoCal this week to compete against top-25 teams, pending weather.
