Bengals Dominate Northern Region and Pave way to State

LEWISTON – On May 13 and 14, the Lewiston Bengals qualified 14 individuals for the state competition as they rolled past the competition bringing home both the boys and girls awards and the overall championship.

Lewiston tallied 140 points while Coeur d’Alene earned 84, Lake City collected 42, and Post Falls notched 26.

Dylan Gomez claimed his second regional championship medal losing only 3 games in the tournament.

Both pairs of Lewiston’s girls and boys doubles battled it out for the championship with Morgan Moran and Allison Olson defeating Lexi Ahlers and Megan Halstead and Henry Parkey with Emmett Heiss defeating Christian Bren with Federico Navarro Lopez.

The mixed doubles team of Shelby Hobbs and Kayden Laferriere placed first while Garrett Beardsley and Cathryn Ho earned third place.

Rylei Carper and Cristina Piedrola battled it out for third and fourth in girls singles with Rylei taking down her teammate and earning a trip to state.

These 14 will travel to Boise this weekend for the state tournament. Go Bengals!
