MOSCOW — On Friday, the City of Moscow announced the completion of construction on Mountain View Road between Joseph and Sixth Street. The corridor and new roundabout are officially open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Travelers will find a host of safety improvements including wider sidewalks, bike lanes, and crosswalks, as well as controlled crossing with a manually-activated rapid flashing beacon at the intersection of Mountain View Road and 7th Street, leading to the Moscow School District Community Playfields.
While initially delayed, construction on the separate 6th Street Bridge Replacement Project continues. Work to date has been focused on relocating utilities and demolishing the bridge damaged by flood waters. Construction will continue through fall with the goal of opening the new bridge to traffic with a temporary surface in December. Completion of the 6th Street bridge is anticipated for the spring of 2023.
