City of Moscow Community Alert: Smoke and Ash Impact

July 29th, 2024 (Moscow, Idaho) — The Moscow Fire Department wishes to inform the community about the presence and increasing level of smoke and ash coming in to the area due to multiple wildland fires in our region, most notably the wildland fires located in Juliaetta, Idaho, and a new fire start today in Pomeroy, Washington. We are actively monitoring the situation and working with local agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.

Air Quality
Currently, the air quality is “Unhealthy for sensitive groups,”  with an anticipation of worsening to Unhealthy” by the weekend. For the most current air quality update, please visit iqair.com/us/usa/Idaho/Moscow.

Safety Precautions
 Stay indoors if possible and keep windows and doors closed.
 Use air purifiers if available and keep your indoor air clean.
 Avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
 If you have respiratory conditions or other health concerns, please take necessary precautions and consult with your healthcare provider.
