Clarkston High School DECA took 49 students to compete at the Washington State Career Development Conference February 29th-March 2nd,in Bellevue, WA. Nineteen of those students qualified for the International Competition in Anaheim, CA which will be held April 25th – May 1st, 2024
DECA is a nationwide vocational student organization for students enrolled in marketing-related courses. Over 5,000 DECA students competed at the state competition in Bellevue competing in a variety of events including Chapter Team Events, Business Operations Research Events, Chapter Awards Project, and Business Role-Play Events. The DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) is the culmination of the DECA year. More than 20,000 high school students, teacher-advisors, business professionals, and alumni gather for several days of DECA excitement. The 75th Annual International Career Development Conference will have over 25,000 competitors at this year’s competition. DECA’S EMERGING LEADER SERIES is designed to empower DECA members to provide effective leadership through goal setting, consensus building and project implementation. Aligned with 21st Century Skills in the areas of critical thinking and problem solving, communication and collaboration, and creativity and innovation. DECA’s Emerging Leader Series prepares members to be effective leaders in college and careers. All of these academies are available during the DECA International Career Development Conference. Elevate and Empower are also available at the DECA Emerging Leader Summit.
