Clarkston’s Magdalyn Earns $5,000 WIAA Smart Choices Scholarship

CLARKSTON – Magdalyn Ogden has been an exemplary member of her school, community, and athletic teams while earning 11 letters and graduating as the class valedictorian at Clarkston High School.
 
Ogden has participated in volleyball, basketball, and tennis at Clarkston, highlighted by a third-place finish on the hardwood in 2019, and is ranked No. 1 in the state at the 2A level in 2021, a season that was limited due to COVID-19. Ogden was named to the All-League team in basketball as a senior while being named her team’s Most Valuable Player in volleyball and garnering All-State honors. In addition to being a three-sport athlete, she has accrued accolades in archery as well, earning a State Championship from the National Archer in Schools program.
 
A standout student and involved member of her community, Ogden will graduate with a 4.0 GPA while taking honors and AP courses. She has served in leadership roles as the captain of the basketball, volleyball, and archery teams and taken on a statewide leadership role as a member of the WIAA LEAP Committee.
 
Ogden plans to attend Grand Canyon University next year where she will be enrolling in the Honors College to study biology with an emphasis in pre-medicine.
