Suspect in Clarkston Murder Receives Upgraded 1st Degree Murder Charge

(Clarkston, WA) Police say a man was allegedly shot and killed by his neighbor in Clarkston on Tuesday night.

According to the Clarkston Police Department, just before 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Ash St. in Clarkston for a report of a gunshot victim.

Officers arrived on scene within three minutes of the call to find a deceased male at the residence. Officers contacted a second male subject on scene who stated he had shot his neighbor during a dispute between the two men. The alleged shooter, 76-year-old David Earl Boyd, of Clarkston, was interviewed by police and subsequently arrested on a charge of Murder in the 2nd Degree. This charge has since been upgraded to Murder in the 1st Degree. He was booked into the Asotin County Jail.

Police say the investigation is on-going, and more information will be released at a later date.

The name of the deceased male has not yet been released.
