(Idaho State) U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), issued the following statement after President-elect Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Jim O’Neill to serve as the Deputy Secretary of HHS:
“American patients deserve a health care system that increases care quality and lowers consumer costs through flexibility, competition and innovation. From previous experience in the private sector and at the Department of Health and Human Services, Mr. O’Neill has seen firsthand how warped government incentives can hinder efforts to deliver effective care. I look forward to considering his nomination to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services.”
