Forgach Aguilar Voted First-Team All-Cascade Conference

11/9/2023 | Alisha Alexander | Assistant AD – Sports Information
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Juliauna Forgach Aguilar had a breakout season for Lewis-Clark State Volleyball as a sophomore and was deservingly rewarded with a First-Team All-Cascade Conference nod on Thursday. The Morenci, Ariz., native etched her name in Warrior history with a dominant offensive year.

“CCC volleyball boasts a large number of talented players which makes Jules’ recognition as a first-team selection very special,” Head Coach Katie Palmer said. “As a player, she embraced trusting her training and taking on a big role as our go-to pin. She knew going into matches every opponent had a scout focused on slowing down her offense and she rose to the challenge with the help of her teammates. As a returning sophomore, I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Jules and LC State Volleyball.”

Forgach Aguilar was the strongest offensive threat for the Warriors in 2023 and finished the season averaging 3.83 kills per set, the second-best single-season mark in program history and ranked second in the CCC. She averaged 4.16 points per set for eighth-best all-time. The outside hitter led the Warriors with 387 kills and 420 points while appearing in all 101 sets of the season’s 28 matches.

With just 84 kills as a freshman, Forgach Aguilar jumped into her role as the team’s key hitter with force. In the first match of the season, she tied her previous career-high with 12 kills before notching 23 the next night. She tallied a season high 24 kills against Ottawa (Ariz.) in her home state. Forgach Aguilar had double-digit kills in 22 of the 28 matches and at least 15 kills in 11 matches.

Forgach Aguilar dealt 22 service aces, averaged 3.40 digs per set and totaled 40 blocks.
