Periods of moderate to locally heavy rainfall are expected to occur over southeast Washington into north-central Idaho through Saturday. Rainfall amounts ranging from 0.50-1.00 inches are expected over much of this area with local amounts nearing 1.50 inches. This will lead to rises on the rivers and streams across this area as well as ponding of water in low-lying area and fields. In steep terrain locations, there will also be a risk of small rock or mud slides. The heaviest precipitation is expected to occur from this morning into the evening hours and once again on Saturday afternoon. At this time, the National Weather Service Reports they do not expect to see any mainstem river flooding.
