Idaho Electors Cast Official Votes for President and Vice President

December 17, 2024

(Boise, Idaho) – Secretary of State Phil McGrane presided over the Electoral College today in the  Lincoln Auditorium of the Idaho State Capitol. Idaho’s four electors officially cast their votes for  President and Vice President of the United States. The process followed constitutional and  statutory requirements and marks Idaho’s role in the Electoral College.

The four electors, Vicki Keen, Jean Mollenkopf-Moore, Brent Regan, and Doyle Beck, were chosen  by the Idaho Republican Party and elected by Idaho voters during the November General Election.  Secretary McGrane certified the votes, which will now be sent to officials in Washington, D.C.,  ahead of the joint session of Congress’ official vote count on January 6, 2025.

“It was a privilege to participate in an event that carries such historic importance. After a record 917,000 Idahoans cast their votes in the November Election, the Electoral College represents the culmination of that election. Congratulations to President-Elect Trump and Vice President Vance on securing Idaho’s support,” said Secretary of State Phil McGrane.

“As an elector, I was honored to cast my vote for Donald J. Trump for President,” said Elector Doyle  Beck. “This is an exciting day, and I’m proud to represent the people of Idaho who overwhelmingly  supported President Trump in the election.”

Secretary McGrane added, “This is the first time in recent history that the Electoral College  proceedings were open to the public, and I’m grateful for everyone who participated in and  attended this historic event. The Electoral College is where Idaho’s voice is heard in the  presidential election, and I’m proud that so many were able to witness this important part of the  process.”
