Idaho Voters May Register and Vote in Today’s General Election

(Idaho State) If you are not yet registered, have recently moved, or need to  update your information, you can register at your polling place on Election Day,  November 5, 2024. 

“Voting is one of the most important ways to make your voice heard. Even if you missed  the pre-registration deadline, Idaho allows same-day registration at your polling place,”  said Secretary McGrane. “We’re here to ensure every eligible Idahoan who wants to vote  has that opportunity.” 

How to Register on Election Day 

If you plan to register in person at your polling place on Election Day, you’ll need: 

  • Photo ID: A valid Idaho Driver’s License, Idaho Identification Card, passport or  federal ID, Tribal ID, or Idaho-issued concealed weapons license. 
  • Proof of Residence: This can include an Idaho-issued ID with your current address,  a utility bill, auto insurance, lease agreement, property tax statement, bank  statement, and paystub. For the complete list of accepted documents, visit  voteidaho.gov.  

Check Your Voter Registration Status 

Visit VoteIdaho.gov to check your registration status before heading to the polls. Who Can Register to Vote in Idaho? 

To register in Idaho, you must: 

  • Be at least 18 years old by Election Day, 
  • Be a United States citizen,
  • Be an Idaho resident for at least 30 days before the election, 
  • And have completed all terms of any felony sentence if applicable. Plan and Bring the Right Documents 

Knowing what you need to bring to your polling place can help ensure a smooth process  and a successful voting experience. Polling locations are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
