IDAHO – On Thursday, April 28, 2022, the Idaho Fish and Game posted its stocking schedule for Clearwater region lakes and ponds during the month of May.
According to the announcement, IDFG staff will be stocking lakes and ponds across the region with over 51,600 catchable-size (10-12 inch) rainbow trout.
These areas are great spots for anglers of all ages as many of the waters being stocked are easy to access, family-friendly fishing destinations, and offer new anglers an opportunity to learn using simple set-ups. All you need to get started is a fishing license and some basic tackle. Annual adult fishing licenses cost around $30, junior licenses (ages 14-17) cost $16, and youth under 14 fish for free.
IDFG staff want to remind anglers who may be eager to hit the ponds that stocking dates are tentative and dependent on weather, accessibility, and staff availability.
