MOSCOW — Idaho Repertory Theatre (IRT) Summer Drama Camp for kids presents a one-time performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at 3:00 p.m. on August 6 at the Hartung Theater.
One of William Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies, “Midsummer” is a play about love lost and found — with magic and whimsy for all.
“’Midsummer’ is beloved for its imaginative playfulness. It provokes children’s natural curiosity and reminds adults of the wonders of youthful gameplaying,” said Robert Caisley, IRT producing artistic director and chair of the U of I Department of Theatre Arts.
The production will feature more than 30 children, from ages 7 to 12, who participated in the two-week IRT drama camp. The camp was not held for two years due to the pandemic. Vandal alumna Christina Brandt, who earned an MFA at U of I in 2017, will direct “Midsummer.”
Tickets cost $10 but are free for people age 18 and below. People are encouraged to buy tickets online. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door starting 30 minutes before showtime, while supplies last.
The Hartung Theater is located at 625 Stadium Drive in Moscow.
