(LEWISTON, ID) Monday, May 20, 2024 — L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity (LCV HFH) is pleased to announce that it has signed the purchase agreement for the Clark Communications building at 2208 8th Ave., Lewiston.

LCV HFH will benefit from this purchase by reducing overall rental costs for two separate locations. The administration office is currently housed in the basement of the Clarkston United Methodist Church and will move to the new location immediately. The ReStore will remain at 1633 G Street in Lewiston until later this summer.

“We have worked hard for the last five months with our realtor, Becka Picchena, and our Board to visualize and outline what we see for our opportunities in this building,” said Deb Snyder, Executive Director of the local Habitat. “We are looking forward to our entire staff working closer together under one roof. The Board and staff has worked hard and put in many hours to complete the necessary explorations of this opportunity.”

Caleb Carlyle, Habitat Board Chairman, also shared his thoughts on the purchase.

“The local Habitat Board looked at several other properties before we chose the Clark Communications building to purchase it. The long-term opportunities for this open land and commercial building could result in several Habitat homes being built. This parcel in Lewiston offers so many advantages that we did not see in any other options in the L-C Valley.”

Over the last three decades, the local Habitat for Humanity has built 35 decent, affordable, energy efficient homes for families in Asotin and Nez Perce counties, giving hope to qualifying families in need by selling the homes with low or zero interest mortgages. LCV HFH has plans to begin building its 36th home in July 2024.
