Latah Farmers Market “Growing Strong” as it Enters its Second Season in Troy

TROY — The Latah Farmers Market is kicking off its second season at the Troy City
Park on Saturday, June 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The market will feature a full lineup of new and returning Latah County vendors, along with local entertainment every Saturday through October 8.

In its first season, the Latah Farmers Market hosted over 50 local vendors and thousands of visitors over the course of its 16-week season. This year, the market expects to increase in size and offerings, as early vendor enrollment is up more than 75% over last year’s.

More than forty Latah County businesses have already applied to participate in this season’s Latah Farmers Market following last year’s success, and the market hopes to welcome many more over the course of the 2022 season.

Popular returning vendors include Spring Valley Family Tree Farm, Johnson’s Heritage Farmstead, Texas Ridge, Eleven O’s Harvest, Farm @ Bluebird Lane, the Sticky Kitchen, Cabin Coffee Roastery, The Battleground Food Truck, Brasherhaus Farms, Jesica’s Backwoods Creations, and more. Many of last season’s youth vendors will be returning as well, including CC’s Sips and Sweets, Kiss Acres, Balloon Boss, Hope’s Handmades, and others.

Shoppers will also find new adult and youth vendors this season, including local artists like Paradise Creek Pottery, Tyler Horton Photography, crafts from Diamond B Supply, Wright’s Custom Wood Burning, Iron Mountain Woodenware, Cossette Creations, 5 Wilde Flowers, and Thimbleberry Candle Co, and delicious edible treats from Moscow Bread Box, World of AKD, Idaho Farmhouse Bakery, among others.

A growing list of vendors can be found on the Latah Farmers Market website and on social media. The Latah Farmers Market will continue to accept new vendor and performer applications from Latah County Residents of all ages throughout the market season.

The Latah Farmers Market has become known in the community as the “friendly farmers market,” as its visitors consistently encounter fresh food, smiling faces, and live entertainment as they shop for locally-grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, ready-to-eat food and beverage, meat, eggs, handcrafted soaps, jewelry, fine art, crafts and more, all produced exclusively in Latah County by Latah County residents.

The Market is independently organized and operated by area growers, producers and
artisans. The goal of the Latah Farmers Market is to unite Latah County communities and foster pride by bringing local producers and shoppers together in an inclusive, safe, family-friendly weekly event, that is open to all. The market was started in 2021 by Latah County producers to expand access to locally-grown food and resources that directly serve the community, in an effort to boost the local economy and minimize reliance on foreign supply chains.

The Latah Farmers Market welcomes everyone. It is ADA accessible, pet and family-friendly, with convenient parking, and youth volunteers available to assist visitors. It’s conveniently located in the beautiful Troy City Park right off Highway 8 in Troy, ID. The market takes place each Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM beginning June 4, 2022, and ending October 8, 2022.
