Latah Farmers Market to Kick Off Season in June

TROY — The Latah Farmers Market will launch its third season in the Troy City Park on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 p.m., and its mid-week market at the WI&M Depot in Potlatch starts up on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Latah Farmers Market boasts an all-local vendor line-up with products sourced or grown exclusively in Latah County and the surrounding community, ensuring shoppers a truly unique shopping and dining experience.

Now in its third season as an independently organized and operated local market, The Latah Farmers Market has become known in the community as the “friendly farmers market,” as its visitors are consistently welcomed with smiling faces, fresh food, and live entertainment as they shop for locally-grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, ready-to-eat food and beverage, meat, eggs, handcrafted soaps, jewelry, fine art, crafts and more, all produced exclusively in Latah County by Latah County residents.

While costs are seeming to rise everywhere, the Latah Farmers Market organizers effectively reduced vendor fees for most vendors in 2023, in hopes that the change will improve the community’s overall access to delicious, healthy food grown right here in the area. The Latah Farmers Market is still accepting new vendor applications and will continue to do so all season long. It offers flexible commitment levels in addition to its low booth fees to accommodate the needs of small farms, youth entrepreneurs, and seasonal producers. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor is invited to attend the vendor orientation meeting on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Troy Park Gazebo from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The Latah Farmers Market was started in 2021 by Latah County producers to expand access to locally-grown food and resources that directly serve the community, boost the local economy, and lessen dependence on foreign supply chains. It has since grown to offer two market locations on two different days of the week for the duration of the Latah County growing season.

The goal of the Latah Farmers Market is to unite Latah County communities and foster pride by bringing local producers and shoppers together in an inclusive, safe, family-friendly weekly event, that is open to all. The Latah Farmers Market welcomes everyone. Both markets are ADA-accessible, pet and family-friendly, with convenient parking and easy access.

The Troy market is located in the beautiful Troy City Park right off Highway 8 in Troy, ID, and takes place each Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. beginning June 3, 2023, and ending October 7, 2023.

The Potlatch market is located in the grassy area outside the historic WI&M Depot in Potlatch, ID, and takes place each Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. beginning June 21, 2023, and ending September 27, 2023.
