LC State Baseball Checks in at No. 3 in NAIA Preseason Poll

11/1/2023 | Alisha Alexander | Assistant Athletic Director-Sports Information
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coming off its second NAIA National-Runner Up finish in two years, the Lewis-Clark State Baseball team received two first-place votes and checked in at No. 3 in the NAIA Baseball Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll on Wednesday.

The Warriors found their rhythm in the 2023 postseason after a challenging regular season. LC State was receiving votes, just outside the top 25, heading into the NAIA Opening Round, presented by Avista, and battled its way to the national title game. Warrior Baseball returns a large portion of both its offensive lineup and starting pitching, as well as key bullpen pieces.

Southeastern (Fla.) garnered 18 first-place votes to capture the top spot in the poll, and Georgia Gwinnett is second. The Grizzles earned two more points (511) than LC State (509) to edge the Warriors in the rankings. Cascade Conference opponents UBC and Oregon Tech are receiving votes in the national poll but are outside the top 25.

The 2024 LC State Baseball season begins in February.
