SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The No. 3 Warriors put on two very different offensive performances on Friday in a twin bill split with Bushnell University. LC State scored 12 runs on 13 hits in game one’s 12-5 victory before falling 11-2 in the nightcap.

The split moves LC State’s record to 10-4 on the season.

GAME ONE: No. 3 LC State def. Bushnell 12-5

A five-run first inning was fueled by four home runs by LC State as the Warriors batted around in the bottom of the first. Nick Seamons hit a solo shot before Charlie Updegrave was hit by a pitch. Dominic Signorelli, Brandon Cabrera and Pu’ukani De Sa went back-to-back-to-back with homers for a 5-0 lead.

Drake George struck out the first Beacon to the plate in a 1-2-3 first inning and the Warriors added on in the second.

Carter Booth walked to lead off the top of the second and Seamons singled. Updegrave was hit by a pitch again to load the bases and a sacrifice fly by Jake Gish plated a run. Signorelli wore a pitch to extend the inning and Cabrera made it 7-0 with a sacrifice fly.

The Beacons struck for two runs on a pair of hits in the bottom of the frame but LC State quickly responded in the third.

Booth walked for the second straight inning before scoring on a double to left center off the bat of Seamons, his third hit of the day. Drake George struck out a batter to end the third with LC in front 8-2.

A single by Jake Gish got the Warrior offense going in the fourth and moved to third on a walk and passed ball. De Sa plated Gish with a sacrifice fly. Drake George fanned two more to cap the fourth frame.

A 3-6-1 double play by Gish, Ike George and Drake George squashed a potential rally by Bushnell in the home half of the fifth, and Cabrera made it 10-2 with a solo shot in the sixth.

Tucker Grote took over on the mound in the seventh inning for a scoreless frame.

Signorelli singled and De Sa doubled to plate a run to give LC State some needed insurance before the Beacons struck for three in the home half of the eighth to make it 11-5.

Seamons walked and scored after hits by Gish and Signorelli to push the LC State advantage to 12-5 in the ninth. A double play and fly out helped Brennen Farber face the minimum in the bottom of the ninth.

The Warriors tallied 13 hits in the contest led by three from Seamons and Signorelli. Signorelli, Cabrera and De Sa each drove in three runs in the game.

Drake George earned the win after striking out five in six innings.

GAME TWO: Bushnell def. No. 3 LC State 11-2

Bushnell came out hot in game two with six runs in the first inning. Decker Stedman took over on the mound and settled in to hold the Beacons off the board through the next four innings.

The Warriors plated their first run of the game in the fifth on base hits by Gish and De Sa. Bushnell answered with two in the home half of the inning to erase the progress. A throw by Cabrera in center cut down a runner at the plate and kept the margin at 8-1 in the seventh.

Booth gave the offense a spark with a solo shot in the eighth, but the Beacons capitalized on pitching miscues for three more runs.

De Sa and Seamons each collected a pair of hits to lead the Warriors.

Stedman and Jake Green each threw 3.1 innings and combined for seven strikeouts. None of the first seven runs were earned and LC State committed four errors.
