LC State names Brown as director of Center for Arts & History

LEWISTON, IDAHO – Kristi Brown has been named the director of the Center for Arts & History, Lewis-Clark State College administrators announced on Thursday. A reception to welcome and connect her with the campus and community is scheduled for April 24.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kristi to Lewis-Clark State College as the new director of the Center for Arts and History,” said Jennie Jones Hall, director of College Advancement and executive director of the LC State Foundation. “Kristi’s ability to connect with students and faculty, and her passion for higher education is evident. I know the programming she will bring to the Center will highlight our region’s rich cultural history.”

Brown, who started in the position on April 8, brings over 20 years of experience in higher education administration, as well as extensive event and project management experience. Administrators say Brown is well equipped to lead the Center for Arts & History into its next phase of growth and development.

Brown will oversee all aspects of the Center, including exhibitions, educational programs, community outreach initiatives, and fundraising efforts, in addition to Art Under the Elms. She will work closely with faculty, staff, students, artists, historians, and community partners to enrich the cultural landscape of both the college and the surrounding community.

“I am honored to join Lewis-Clark State College and lead the Center for Arts and History,” Brown said. “I am passionate about the transformative power of education and the importance of preserving our heritage. I look forward to collaborating with the college and the community to inspire creativity, stimulate dialogue, and enrich lives.”

The campus community and public are invited to attend the welcome reception on April 24 from 4-6 p.m. for a chance to meet Brown and share feedback and ideas for the Center. The reception will be held at the Center for Arts & History, located at 415 Main Street in Lewiston.
