01-16-24

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College’s spring semester enrollment is on the rise, according to first-day numbers released by school administrators on Tuesday. Compared to a year ago, LC State’s fulltime enrollment is up 2.2% while its overall headcount has climbed 1.4%. Official spring numbers will be available on census day, March 15.

The modest increase continues a trend of enrollment stability at LC State while many of its peers across the nation are facing declines.

“LC State continues to attract students from throughout Idaho and the region who seek quality programs, an affordable price, and a small-college experience,” LC State President Cynthia Pemberton said. “We’re pleased with how stable our enrollment has been, but we’re also eager to continue spreading the word about the big things our small college can do.”

LC State divisions with the largest gains include Business & Computer Science, up 12.7 percent (63 students); Technical & Industrial, up 12.2% (20 students); and Nursing & Health Sciences, up 5% (26 students).

Popular programs within the Business & Computer Science Division include business administration, accounting, and business management, along with growing computer science and cybersecurity management programs.

Some of the largest Technical & Industrial Division programs include diesel technology, auto mechanics, and welding technology, along with an expanding industrial electronics program.

Popular Nursing & Health Sciences Division programs include various nursing degree tracks along with a very popular radiographic science program.
