LEWISTON – The Lewis-Clark State College athletic department has scheduled individual auditions for national anthem singers and musicians on Thursday, April 27, at 4-6 p.m. to perform during the 66th annual Avista NAIA World Series on May 26–June 2.
The tryouts will be held at LC State’s Harris Field, and are free and open to the public. Singers can try out as soloists or in any group size. Those that cannot make it on the designated day must submit a video audition by 5 p.m. on April 28.
Series performers from previous years are encouraged to audition again. Performers do not need to register ahead of time but must know the words to the United States national anthem and be able to sing or perform in front of as many as 5,000 people at an Avista NAIA World Series game.
At the auditions, all performers will be asked to fill out a brief information sheet before either singing or playing the national anthem. Singers will perform without music.
Various LC State officials will serve as judges. Contestants will be informed of the judges’ decisions the following week. Some performers who are not selected to sing during the Series may be invited to perform at LC State home athletic events during the 2023-24 school year.
In case of rain, the tryouts will move to the P1FCU Activity Center, located next to Harris Field.
