LC State Volleyball Signs Pair of Junior College Transfers for 2023

LEWISTON, Idaho – Warrior Volleyball announced the signing of two junior college transfers to the 2023 roster on Monday in Central Wyoming’s Missy Mortensen and Spokane Falls’ Abby Meyer. The pair will join LC State in the fall.
Mortensen, a native of Ogden, Utah, is a 5-11 middle blocker that competed at Central Wyoming CC for three seasons. The Rustlers were ranked as high as No. 7 in the NJCAA during Mortensen’s career. She prepped at Clearfield High School in Utah.
“Missy is coming to LC State with great experience coming from Central Wyoming who repeatedly found themselves on the national stage,’ Head Coach Katie Palmer said. “She understands the importance of training at a high level, competing for playing time, while also enjoying the experience with her teammates. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact she will have on and off the court.”
Meyer, a 6-foot right side, hails from Richland, Wash., and played two seasons for the Sasquatch at Spokane Falls CC. She attended Hanford High School.
“After meeting with Abby, I immediately knew she would bring energy to the court and will embody our five core values here at LC State,” Palmer said. “She’s going to be a player who makes her teammates better on and off the court. I can’t wait for her to get here and get to work.”
