(Corvallis, OR) The No. 15 Lewis-Clark State Men’s Basketball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for Dec. 30-Jan. 5, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced on Sunday.
The Warriors defeated both Multnomah (Ore.) and Warner Pacific (Ore.) in a big weekend sweep on the road. The team improved its record to 12-2 on the season and 7-1 in conference play. The wins have LC at the top of the CCC standings.
On Friday, the Warriors cruised past the Lions with a final score of 90-72. LC State shot 55.8% from the floor, 75% from 3-point range and made 26 free throws in the victory. MaCarhy Morris tallied a career-high 24 points to lead the game and also led the contest with eight rebounds, four assists, and shot 7-for-12 from the field.
LC State defeated the Knights with a final score of 73-60 on Saturday. The Warriors shot 48.4% from the field and outrebounded the Knights 41-27. Alton Hamilton led the contest with his 22-point, 10-rebound double-double and Gorden Boykins was 6-for-9 with his career-best 15 points and added seven rebounds.
Warrior Men’s Basketball is the first LC State team to earn CCC Team of the Week honors this season.
