(Lewiston, ID) – Lewis-Clark State College Baseball had two student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, announced by CSC on Tuesday. Carter Booth and Brandon Cabrera earned the award for the first time in their careers.

The duo of Booth and Cabrera anchored the top of the LC State lineup throughout the season. The pair tied for the team-lead in hits with 68 and both maintained grade point averages of 4.0. Both earned All-Cascade Conference honors and were voted the CCC Players of the Week once this season.

“Extremely proud of Carter and Brandon for their dedication and performance on the diamond and in the classroom,” Head Coach Jake Taylor said. “Both are excellent young men and well deserving of their accolades.”

In order to be named CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing and maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution’s games/contests played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution’s games/contests.

Booth, who just graduated with a degree in Business Communications, led the Cascade Conference in doubles with 23 and runs scored with 61. He led the Warriors in triples (3) and total bases (124).

In his first season with the Warriors, Cabrera, a Computer Science major, led LC State at the plate in numerous categories. He was the top Warrior in batting average (.362), OPS (1.102), on-base percentage (.469), and stolen bases (22). He was the lone LC State player to play in all 51 games this season.
