(Lewiston, ID) Lewis-Clark State College Athletics will host a free National Girls and Women in Sports Day clinic on Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon on the campus of LC State. The clinic will allow young girls in grades K-5 the opportunity to experience a variety of sports and learn about being a girl and women in sports.
Registration is now open HERE with only 50 spots available. Select the “Multisport” option on the camps page. Check-in will start at 8:30 a.m. in the lobby of Activity Center West.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend sessions including volleyball, dance/cheer, basketball, tennis, golf, softball and first aid. The sessions will be taught by current and former LC State student-athletes, coaches, administrators and community members. Every participant will attend a first aid session with the LC State athletic training staff.
Each participant will receive a limited-edition LC State National Girls and Women in Sports Day poster that can be signed by current Warrior student-athletes and a free water bottle, along with a ticket and food voucher valid for the LC State Women’s Basketball game on Feb. 1 at 4 p.m.
Feb. 5 marks the 39th annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD). This celebration inspires girls and women to play and be active, to realize their full power. The confidence, strength and character gained through sports participation are the very tools girls and women need to become strong leaders in sports and life. NGWSD is a national day co-founded and powered by the Women’s Sports Foundation and supported by its team of champion athletes. Annually, schools and community-serving organizations host over 300 grassroots events across all 50 states and Washington, D.C. with an estimated reach of 200,000 girls and women.
