LEWISTON —Lewis Clark Animal Shelter has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the ASPCA® (The American
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) Northern Tier Shelter Initiative to support vaccination clinics
for pet owners in the Lapwai community. This grant will help Lewis Clark Animal Shelter fund lifesaving services
such as providing essential vaccinations.
“The Lewis Clark Animal Shelter is grateful to receive a $4,000 grant from the ASPCA Northern Tier Shelter Initiative to support funding for providing vaccination clinics for the families in the Lapwai Community,” said Becky Sturmer, Development Director. “These grant funds allow us to continue and grow this outreach, providing access to services for many and to provide relief and peace of mind. Pet owners are grateful for us being there for them and their beloved pets.”
The Lewis Clark Animal Shelter’s key goal is to continue providing a vaccination clinic twice per year to the Lapwai
Community. Providing access to veterinary care for pet owners in underserved communities is a vital resource that can help keep more pets in loving homes and improve their quality of life.
“We will strive to achieve the goal of helping keep our community animals healthy, and safe and most of all be supportive of pet owners. Continuing to educate our staff through webinars and meetings is key to withstanding collaboration of healthy pet ownership.” Lewis Clark Animal Shelter said.
The first clinic will be Friday, April 29 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Pi-Nee-Waus Community Center in Lapwai. For more information, visit the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter Facebook page.
