Lewiston Fire Department Makes Quick Work of Friday Night Fire

LEWISTON – On February, 9 at 11:47 p.m., the Lewiston Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 631 Warner Avenue, #16. First arriving crews found light smoke coming from the building. The caller had reported seeing a fire from security cameras in the residence.

Crews entered the structure and extinguished a small fire in the kitchen area. A further search revealed no one was in the building. Vertical ventilation was used to remove smoke and heat from the building. The fire was knocked down quickly and crews remained on scene for approximately an hour to complete overhaul operations.

The department responded with three structural engines, three ambulances, one chief officer, and two fire investigators—a total of 18 personnel.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Damage estimates to the home and contents are approximately $30,000. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported.
