LEWISTON – Lewiston High School announced on Wednesday that Coach Brooks Malm has signed on as their new boys’ basketball head coach.

Coach Malm, originally from Troy, Idaho, played varsity basketball for the Trojans and went on to play for a year at Walla Walla Community College, where he assisted with coaching duties and served as a recruiting coordinator. Malm worked at the University of Idaho in several capacities, first as a student assistant for the 2015-2016 season, then as director of men’s basketball, and ultimately transitioned to the director of player development for 2017-2018.

Coach Malm has most recently served as director of sport and boys’ head basketball coach at Buchanan High School in Clovis California.

According to a Lewiston HS press release, Coach Malm will be coming into town from California this Sunday. They are inviting the parents/guardians of boys interested in participating in basketball this upcoming 2022-23 season to a meeting on June 7, at 6:00 p.m. to officially introduce Coach Malm. The meeting will be held at Lewiston HS and parents and students are asked to enter through the main doors.

Coach will discuss his tentative calendar of events, opportunities for the boys, and expectations at this time.

If you cannot attend, you’re asked to contact Corey Williams to have your message passed on to Coach Malm.
