(Lewiston, ID) An 18 year old Lewiston man has been arrested and charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Possession and Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material.

Wyatt Parris of Lewiston was arrested on December 18, 2024 after Snapchat allegedly submitted a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possession and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material. According to court documents, this report was ultimately assigned to the Lewiston Police Department for further investigation.

The Idaho Attorney General’s Office reportedly served a subpoena to Cableone-Sparklight around October 31, 2024, after discovering that the IP address used to view and distribute the material was connected to their services. This information reportedly led officers to the residence of Parris.

The Lewiston Police Department then issued a search warrant to Snapchat for the account involved in the original cyber tip. Once officers gained access to the account, they were reportedly able to match thirteen photos to Parris’s appearance. officers also reportedly discovered the Child Sexual Abuse Material provided in Snapchat’s initial report.

On December 18, a Lewiston Police officer stopped Parris in his Toyota Corolla and asked him to step out of the vehicle. Another officer on scene reportedly saw Parris’s cellphone sitting on the driver’s seat of the vehicle and seized it immediately. Parris was then reportedly brought into custody for further questioning. According to the official court documents “Parris told the detective that he had been receiving and distributing images and videos of children engaged in sex acts for the past few months.”

Parris also reportedly admitted to the detective that  “he had received and distributed child sexually abusive material involving children as young as three-years-old in his pursuit to get more material involving the age groups of children he was sexually attracted to; which he described as children as young as 10-years-old.”

Officers then searched through Parris’s phone, allegedly finding “tens of thousands of images and thousands of videos on the Samsung.”

Parris was subsequently booked into the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center and charged with two felony counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Possession and Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material. His bond has been set at $250,000 and his Preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 30.
