At approximately 11:23 AM the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a helicopter, that had been fertilizing fields, clipped powerlines, and crashed near Harvest Moon Lane in the Harvest Vista Sub-division east of Lewiston. Upon arrival, Deputies were able to locate the crash site near the edge of a field on the rim of a canyon. The pilot, 32-year-old Lewiston resident, Drew Oharra was able to escape the helicopter with minor injuries.

The crash also caused a power outage to approximately 15 homes around Harvest Moon. Avista crews are currently working to restore power to the area. The FAA responded to the scene and will be investigating the cause of the crash.
