(LEWISTON, ID) As of Monday, May 13, Red Lobster in Lewiston has closed its doors, and let go of all of their employees with no explanation to the public.
A sign posted on the front door states “This location is closed. We look forward to serving you at another Red Lobster location in the future.”
The official Red Lobster website confirms the closing of the Lewiston location, along with at least 50 other locations across the United States.
While no official information has been released, multiple sources have stated rumors of Red Lobster filing for bankruptcy. “Red Lobster is contemplating filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to mounting debts and financial challenges. The restaurant chain reported an operating loss of $12.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2023, despite increasing the price of its endless shrimp deal.”, according to Bloomberg.
