Local Athletes Give Impressive Performance at Quest of Champions Tournament Earlier this Month

LEWISTON – Twelve athletes from the Martial Arts America Competition Team competed at the Quest of Champions on October 8th, 2022, and earned an impressive 37 medals in this tournament, and Rhyli Stocks earned the Grand Champion Trophy. The medals given to winners are actually custom swords. Quest of Champions is hosted by Sensei Steven Smith of Valley Karate School in Lewiston.

  • Cord Stocks – Advanced Brown and Black Belt 11-12-Year-Old Males – 1st Place Kobudo (Weapons), Grappling and Blocker Sparring, 2nd Place Kata, and 3rd Place Sparring
  • Lily Olsen – Advanced Brown and Black Belt 11-12-Year-Old Females 3rd Place Kobudo (Weapons)
  • Kya Svancara – Intermediate Orange to Green Belt 7-8-Year-Old Females – 1st Place Kata, Kumite, Kobudo (Weapons) and Blocker Sparring
  • Tristan Gillispie – Intermediate Orange to Green Belt 7-8-Year-Old Males – 2nd Place Kumite, and 3rd Place Grappling
  • Conley Svancara – Beginners White to Yellow Belt 5-6-Year-Old Males – 3rd Place Grappling and Blocker Sparring
