LEWISTON – Wednesday morning, the Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office filed Felony Malicious Injury to Property charges against Albert Powaukee for his alleged involvement in vandalizing Zions Bank in Lewiston.
The Lewiston Police Department was dispatched to the incident on August 17, where the drive-through windows were broken leaving blood and glass on the ground. After a thorough investigation by LPD Officer McCullough, security footage allegedly showed Mr. Powaukee using his right elbow to break the windows causing damages estimated in excess of $20,000.
Mr. Powaukee will be arraigned later today for bail and be set for a future court date (CR35-22-6287).
The Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office reminds everyone that these charges are merely an accusation and Mr. Powaukee remains innocent until proven guilty
