Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 23 OLLU in Tournament Semifinal

NEW ORLEANS – The Lewis-Clark State Men’s Tennis team was eliminated in the semifinals of the NAIA Unaffiliated Group Championship in a 4-0 loss to No. 23 Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) on Friday.
The loss dropped the Warrior record to 12-14 on the season
In doubles, Itaru Kikuchi and Matus Rusnak were unable to get the victory in the No. 1 slot against David Ekpenyong and Kyllian Savary in a 6-2 loss. Rafael Bonnet de Larbogne and Daniel Tevez lost in No. 3 doubles 6-3.
Austin Swing and Nell Rollin were tied 4-4 against Michael Canales and David Daniel in No. 2 doubles before the game was called as the other matches concluded and the doubles point awarded to the Saints.
Rusnak lost in No. 1 singles to Savary 6-2, 6-2. Swing took the loss in No. 2 singles to Johan Favelin 6-3, 6-0. Tevez was unable to get the win in No. 6 singles in a 6-1, 6-1 loss.
Bonnet de Larbogne won the opening set against Majsajdr in No. 3 singles and led 6-4, 2-3. Rollin also took his opening set 7-5 in No. 5 singles. Both matches and the No. 2 singles contest were called off when Our Lady of the Lake clinched the victory

2.   David Ekpenyong (OLLU) vs. Itaru Kikuchi (LCSC) 6-4, 3-4 UNF
3.   Rafael Bonnet de Larbogne (LCSC) vs. Jaroslav Majsajdr (OLLU) 6-4, 2-3 UNF
4.   Johan Favelin (OLLU) def. Austin Swing (LCSC) 6-3, 6-0
5.   Nell Rollin (LCSC) vs. David Daniel (OLLU) 7-5 (UNF)
6.   Luis Hernandez (OLLU) def. Daniel Tevez (LCSC) 6-1, 6-1
UP NEXT
LC State Men’s Tennis will wrap up the 2023-24 season with a non-team counting contest with Treasure Valley CC at 6 p.m. on April 26 at the LCSC Tennis Center.
