(Moscow, ID) — The Moscow Fire Department responded to a record-breaking 3,002 incidents in 2024, a 6% increase from the previous high of 2,828 calls in 2021. This also represents a 9.7% rise in call volume compared to the 2,723 incidents handled in 2023.
The department relies on a dedicated team of approximately 90 volunteers, about 60% of whom are students. Among these, 27 student residents live at the fire stations during the academic year and the remainder are community volunteers, providing crucial support to the department’s operations.
