In December, DEA opened a new, state-of-the-art training facility featuring a mock pharmacy, doctors’ offices, and narcotic treatment program. The new building gives students the opportunity to train in settings similar to those they will encounter upon graduation when they bring their skills to the field as DEA diversion investigators. DEA Diversion Investigators go through a rigorous training prior to entering the field. The role of a Diversion Investigator is to enforce the law on the manufacture, distribution, and dispensing of legally produced controlled substances to prevent drug diversion into the illicit market.
