Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office to increase holiday patrols

(Lewiston, ID) To ensure the safety of all travelers this holiday season, Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office is increasing its efforts to prevent impaired driving through enhanced DUI patrols. Beginning this Friday and continuing through January 2nd, Sheriff Deputies will be conducting high-visibility patrols to remove impaired drivers from the road. Driving while impaired is not just illegal, it’s deadly, and our goal is to keep everyone safe as we celebrate the holidays. They are reminding everyone to make responsible decisions and always plan ahead for a safe ride home. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drunk driving incidents tend to rise during the holiday season, with alcohol related crashes accounting for a significant percentage of fatalities. Remember, impaired driving is 100% preventable. Celebrate responsibly and make this holiday season a safe one for all.
