PULLMAN – Chief Jenkins was honored to present two special awards during this week’s City Council meeting.

Resident Kevin Armentrout received a Pullman Police Department Lifesaving Award, for quickly and selflessly intervening when he happened upon a subject attempting suicide in December.

Mr. Armentrout wrapped his arms around the man, preserving life and safety until officers arrived on the scene.

City of Moscow Police Officer Mitch Nunes received the Pullman Police Department Meritorious Lifesaving Award, for his response to the September shooting on Pullman’s College Hill.

Officer Nunes quickly responded to a call for mutual aid and assisted Pullman officers in providing first aid to shooting victims.

“We thank both Armentrout and Nunes for their outstanding contributions toward the safety of our Pullman community!” Pullman Police said.
