On Monday, October 31, Deputies from Nez Perce County, Idaho State Troopers and Nez Perce Tribal Police responded to an abandoned vehicle on Highway 12 near Milepost 22.
An animal was located inside the vehicle along with fishing gear. It appeared the animal and car had been parked there for some time. After a search for the owner, a person was located in the Clearwater River.
The person was deceased but there does not appear to be any foul play involved in their death. All involved agencies are attempting to locate family members of the decedent.
