Selway Road Partially Reopened Monday and Tuesday

Contractors and Kidder-Harris Highway District have made progress on the landslide blocking Selway Road 223.

A single lane has been cleared and access is available through the slide during daylight hours today, August 15, and tomorrow, August 16. There will be a spotter monitoring the slide for safety, and a flagger to escort traffic through the site.

This is an opportunity for individuals who are stranded or who need supplies that are up-river of this slide to use the route on 8/15 and 8/16 ONLY while the contractor pauses work while waiting for equipment. RV traffic will be allowed through the slide area.

The road will be barricaded during non-working hours and at night when visibility is limited and to maintain public safety when the slide is not monitored. After 8/16 it is likely the road will be blocked again as contractors work on the slide area once more. There is not currently a timeline for when the road will be fully accessible again.
