On April 23rd, 2024, at approximately 8:06p.m., Lewiston Police responded to a call of shots fired in the
3200 block of 9th Street. Information given at the time of the incident indicated that a female was outside,
firing shots from a pistol towards an occupied house at the above location. Upon arrival, officers set up a
perimeter and shut down streets in the area. During the investigation, a female was found in the backyard
of the house that was being shot at. This female was contacted by police and found to have what appeared
to be a self inflicted gunshot wound to her head. Officers attempted life saving measures and called for
medics. This female was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
There were no other individuals injured during this incident and the only property damage was to the house
where the above female was located. Lewiston Police Detectives were called to investigate and process
the scene. This case is still under active investigation and no names or other information is being released
at this time. The 3200 block of 9th Street was closed for approximately 3 hours during the investigation.
