Side-By-Side Crash in Priest River Takes 63-Year-Old’s Life

PRIEST RIVER – Idaho State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:00 PM on June 30th, 2022, on Freeman Lake Road, just west of Priest River in Bonner County.

The driver of a Yamaha side-by-side was traveling westbound on Freeman Lake Road when the driver left the roadway, lost control, and was ejected from the vehicle. The Yamaha was driven by a 63-year-old male driver from Priest River, Idaho. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

The Idaho State Police are working with the Bonner County Coroner on notification of next of kin.

Evidence was found on the scene to indicate that drugs and/or alcohol may have been involved in this crash. That evidence is part of the ongoing investigation.

Traffic was slowed on the roadway throughout the investigation.

The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
