Special Olympics Idaho Annual Charity Golf and Cornhole Tournament Saturday in Orofino

OROFINO – The Special Olympics Idaho 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament takes place Saturday, May 21 at the Orofino Golf and Country Club to raise money for Special Olympics Idaho athletes across the state of Idaho.

“Idaho Special Olympics is on a mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities,” said Nancy Greene.

Events for the day include a nine-hole, four-person scramble, which is $75 per person or $275 per team. The cost includes golf and lunch, as well as access to the silent and live auctions. There will also be prize money for the top three teams.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.

Community members planning to go are urged to bring their own cart if possible. Rentals through Orofino Golf and Country Club are available, however, numbers are limited. Call the course early to reserve a cart at (208) 476 – 3117

If you aren’t a golfer and want to support, there is also a Cornhole Tournament starting at 11:30 a.m. It is $25 per two-person team or $15 per person and that includes lunch. Prize money will also be given to the winning team.

“The yearly golf and cornhole tournament helps offset costs for State of Idaho athletes to participate in a variety of competitions at local, state, national, and world locations,” said Nancy Greene.

Lunch will still be available for those not participating in golf or cornhole for a monetary donation to the Special Olympics Idaho.

A silent auction will be ongoing during golf and a live auction will start at 2:00 p.m.
