Spokane Valley Deputies Respond to Early Morning Bar Shooting

January 20, 2025

(Spokane, WA) On January 19, 2025, at approximately 1:10 am, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Whiskey Glasses, 4211 E. Westwood Avenue, for a reported shooting.

Arriving Deputies contacted an adult female victim with a makeshift tourniquet on her leg and what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the lower portion. Deputies applied a tourniquet and rendered aid until relieved by Spokane County Fire District 4 and additional personnel.

Deputies learned from victim and witness statements that the suspect, 32-year-old Skylar M. Jones, was involved in an argument with other persons at the bar. The argument moved to the parking lot and quickly escalated when Jones pulled out a pistol, saying something similar to “Do you wanna get shot?” while firing the handgun into the ground.
Almost immediately, the victim said she felt pain in her lower leg and realized she had been shot. She was provided medical aid and transported to the hospital for her injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening.
Deputies learned Jones fled the scene in a red Chevrolet truck, and they advised local law enforcement agencies of the information.

At approximately 5:10 am, Spokane Tribal Police advised they located and detained Jones near Fruitland, Washington. Jones is expected to remain in their custody until he can be extradited to Spokane County, where he will face several felony and misdemeanor charges.
